Trainee program

The completion of a business-oriented study with a focus on logistics, production, controlling or sales offers you excellent starting conditions as a trainee. If you value an international environment and the way people interact with different cultures and languages, Hödlmayr is the right place for you.

Your Hödlmayr trainee program will take you through different areas of the entire company in 1.5 years. You will get to know our products, complex logistics services by road, rail and ship, from different professional perspectives.

As a trainee, you’ll take responsibility for projects at home and abroad. If you spend several months abroad in one of our branches, you will also get to know the processes and procedures of the respective department at the operational level. This way, you can build up solid personal and professional networks during your trainee program.

Well-founded further training courses, such as specialist seminars in the field of finance and logistics, management training, etc., support your development. The aim of your trainee program is to develop perspectives into a specialist or leading position in Germany and abroad.

 

5 questions for Michael Potocsnyek, graduate of the Hödlmayr trainee program

Today, Michael is the team leader of Tender Management at Hödlmayr International AG

How did you become aware of the trainee program?

After my studies, I was looking for trainee programs because I think that these allow an optimal start into working life. At Hödlmayr, I was also attracted to the subjects of automotive logistics and international business relations. The international orientation was particularly important to me, both within the company with the various national companies and branches as well as on the customer side, where I could put my know-how into practice.

What experiences did you have during the trainee program?

In the 1.5 years, I’ve had a lot of different experiences that have left a lasting impression on me. I was very well received by all the project groups and in the various departments. That’s where contacts and friendships are formed. The trainee program at Hödlmayr offers the opportunity to quickly get to know the processes and the people who act. I was also able to experience in my own way what flexibility means in logistics.

How have you benefited from the trainee program in your current role as an international logistics manager?

As a trainee, you get the time to look at processes very closely and the chance to actively help shape them. In addition, you are assigned many multi-faceted tasks and can build up a lot of knowledge while simultaneously exploring your strengths.

What is the benefit of a stay abroad for professional development?

A stay abroad always expands your personal horizons and strengthens your personality. You have to adapt to new circumstances and learn different ways of seeing and behaving. Especially in our internationally positioned company, it’s important to stay open to new ideas and understand others. That’s the basis for success.

And for you personally?

It’s very important for me to have my own experiences. They’re more intense abroad because it’s not the usual environment.

 

One graduate of the Dual Academy at Hödlmayr is Raziye Aydin. “I chose the Dual Academy because it features tailor-made training for AHS graduates and offers the opportunity to start working immediately after graduation. Hödlmayr is also one of the few companies to offer this exclusive program.” Initially the forwarding agent worked in Hödlmayr High & Heavy, she now supports her colleagues in Key Account Management, where activities such as designing international transports, coordinating customer inquiries and customer communication are part of the program.

The Dual Academy also includes an internship abroad, which Raziye Aydin completed at Hödlmayr Logistics Belgium N.V. in Belgium.
