From July 1, 2024, Johannes Alexander Hödlmayr will join the top management of the Upper Austrian family-owned company, with responsibility for 1,700 employees across Europe. As CEO, he is responsible for Strategy, Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Human Resources and Marketing & Communication.
As part of the 3rd generation, he was born with a passion for logistics. After graduating from the Europagymnasium Baumgartenberg, he studied Logistics and Transport Management at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna, followed by a Master's degree in Communication Management. He gained his first professional experience outside the family business at UnitCargo SpeditionsgesmbH and the delivery service provider Hermes.
With this valuable experience in his pocket, he joined Hödlmayr Logistics GmbH, the largest Hödlmayr subsidiary, as an assistant to the management in 2019. Through job rotation and various project responsibilities, he gained further insights into the operational processes. In 2020, he became an assistant to the Management Board and looked over his father's shoulder for a short time. He took on his first management responsibilities in 2021 and became Managing Director of Hödlmayr High & Heavy GmbH. Most recently, he was Managing Director of Hödlmayr Logistics GmbH.
The interplay between holding and operations enables him to drive forward important strategic issues as well as understand the needs of the subsidiaries and take them into account in his decisions.
Johannes Alexander Hödlmayr has been married since 2022 and splits his time between Vienna and Schwertberg. In his free time, he can be found on the tennis court and golf course. He has also completed his MBA and is interested in politics and history.
Robert Horvath – visionary & financial expert

After graduating from the HTL for mechanical engineering, Robert Horvath studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Steyr and completed his MBA at LIMAK. He began his professional career at Porsche AG Stuttgart. This was his entry into the automotive industry. From now on, this industry field will accompany him in his professional career along with various positions.
From 2006, he worked for Rübig GmbH for more than 14 years, most recently as Holding Managing Director. Under his leadership, the group increased its turnover to 70 million and grew the number of employees from 150 to over 500. With a strong focus on transformation, he succeeded in internationalizing a medium-sized business into a globally operating group of companies by establishing new subsidiaries in: Germany, Slovakia, China, and the USA.
Since July 2020, Robert Horvath has brought his expertise to Hödlmayr International GmbH as CFO and member of the Management Board. In his role, he is responsible for Finance, Controlling, Legal, IT, Purchasing as well as Corporate Social Responsibility.
Robert Horvath lives in a partnership and is the father of two children. He spends his free time with his family or doing regatta sailing, skiing, and endurance sports. As a life-long learner, he expands his horizons through travel and various leadership & management books.
Andreas Sundl – strategist and logistics expert

Andreas Sundl has been COO and member of the Management Board at Hödlmayr International GmbH since July 1, 2021. In his role, Andreas Sundl is responsible for the operational agendas as well as the overall international sales activities.
His career at Hödlmayr began back in 2007. Since then, he has passionately and successfully performed as General Manager of the subsidiaries in Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Since 2017, Andreas Sundl was also General Manager of Hödlmayr Rail GmbH. Under his leadership, he built a stable organization and strong leaders. As a result, the companies have contributed significantly to the overall success of the Hödlmayr Group.
Before Hödlmayr, he held various positions at ÖBB and Rail Cargo Austria. In the end, Andreas Sundl was Managing Director of Car Rail Logistics, a joint venture between ÖBB and Hödlmayr. Born in Graz, he attended the public Stiftsgymnasium in Melk/Donau. Afterwards, he started his training as a train dispatcher in the operational service of ÖBB.
