Hödlmayr expands fleet and consolidates market position

| Team & Organisation

Hödlmayr, a leading provider in the field of vehicle logistics, is strengthening its position in the market by consistently expanding its fleet. At a press conference on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the company emphasized its successful strategy, which enabled it to exceed the 400 million turnover mark in the past financial year despite challenging conditions.

"Our success is the result of a consistently pursued strategy," emphasized Johannes Alexander Hödlmayr, designated Managing Director of Hödlmayr International GmbH. In order to meet the increasing requirements, structural adjustments were made, including the recruitment of 100 additional employees and extensive investments in the vehicle fleet. The number of vehicle transporters has been increased to around 600, while the number of block train systems has risen to 24. Last year, the company transported 1.9 million vehicles, an increase of 200,000 compared to the previous period.

Internationalization plays an important role for Hödlmayr, which is represented in 16 countries with its own branches. Despite regional challenges, the company recorded stable and pleasing developments, particularly in Turkey, which has established itself as an important hub for the Caucasus and the "Stan States".

Another focus is on sustainability, with Hödlmayr aiming to become a CO2-neutral company by 2040. To achieve this goal, the company is investing in alternative drive technologies and plans to double the proportion of rail transport by 2030.

The future of vehicle sales remains of crucial importance to Hödlmayr. While new market players initially relied on direct sales, a return to the traditional dealer network is now evident. However, Hödlmayr is preparing for all scenarios and plans to expand its block train systems to 29 sets by 2025/26.

Forecasts for new vehicle registrations are stable with a slight upward trend until 2035. However, the role of alternative drive technologies remains uncertain and depends on the political framework conditions.
