Milestone reached: Construction of Austria's largest PV system on carports on schedule

| Technology & Sustainability

The construction of Austria's largest photovoltaic system on carports is progressing according to plan. A first important milestone has now been reached on the Hödlmayr Logistics Austria site in Schwertberg: the structures for around 1,700 parking spaces have been fully completed and the installation of the photovoltaic modules has begun.

This confirms the ambitious schedule: The plant is scheduled to go into operation at the end of June 2026. With this project, the Hödlmayr Group is making a significant contribution to achieving its sustainability and climate targets.

Project schedule at a glance

November 2024: Project start with the first excavation work
End of 2024: Laying of a 4.5-kilometre-long power line to the substation
Summer 2025: Completion of the carport structures for 1,700 parking spaces
From August 2025: start of installation of the photovoltaic modules
June 2026: Planned commissioning

Project data in detail

  • Construction of a 5.8 MWp photovoltaic system with around 10,000 solar modules
  • Roofing of 1,700 parking spaces
  • Savings of around 3,170 tons of CO₂ emissions per year
  •  Energy produced corresponds to the needs of around 2,250 households

The project is being implemented together with joint venture partner Electrify and demonstrates the Hödlmayr Group's commitment to innovative, sustainable energy solutions.
