CEO Johannes Hödlmayr is especially pleased with this new acquisition: “Vehicle logistics involve far more than merely straightforward transports from A to B. For example, the loading process is highly complex and undoubtedly one of our company’s key competences. Due to VR technology, our visitors and guests can now attempt to carry out this procedure and thus obtain a genuine feeling for our daily challenges.”
At the moment, using the Hödlmayr VR simulator one can load cars onto both a special transporter and a railway waggon. However, following the next system update, it will also be possible to move trucks and tractors onto a High & Heavy transporter.
Owing to its great detail, the simulator is not only an external attraction, but has also become a successful feature of driver training. As Johannes Hödlmayr stresses: “Our professionals are all highly enthusiastic about this genuine reflection of reality. The use of the VR simulator for coaching purposes has enabled us to again raise the quality of our training, as well as providing another contribution to a reduction in CO2-emissions.”
