The pilot project comprises one departure every three weeks. During the initial stage mainly rolling and heavy cargo will be forwarded on the routes to south-eastern Europe. Shipments in the opposite direction are dominated by new-car importations from Romania.
Eco Danube is a joint enterprise with four partners: Hödlmayr International (Schwertberg), Connect freight forwarding company in Wels, the river shipping company Euro Bevrachting Germany in Regensburg and the Schwandner Logistik + Transport GmbH, specialising in heavy and special transportations, headquartered in Pfreimd, Germany. The Management lies in the hands of Oskar Stelzhammer.
