Hödlmayr wins Austrian Export Prize
First logistics company with this award
Last Thursday June 21 at the Vienna Museumsquartier the Austrian Export Price in the category transport and traffic was awarded to Hödlmayr International AG. Since 1994 the price has been awarded by the Federal Chamber of Economy Austria and the Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth. With this price companies are honored which make an important contribution to economic growth and securing employment in Austria by outstanding commitment and success in foreign markets. Hödlmayr is the first logistics company which won this prestigious award. ”This award fills us with pride and joy. We see this award as a token of appreciation and performance of the transport industry”, says board member Martin Wilflingseder, who represented the chairman of the board Johannes Hödlmayr, travelling abroad on business, at the celebration and accepted the prize.
Employees and customers support corporate philosophy
Special thanks of the board go to the customers and employees of Hödlmayr. ”Especially our employees have considerably shaped the philosophy of our company“, Wilflingseder continues. The success of a logistics company does not only depend on cost-effective and intelligent work. Also the commitment for environment is part of the corporate philosophy of Hödlmayr International AG. The concept of green logistics shows that economic success can be combined with environmental responsibility. Among other things Hödlmayr focuses on the integration of rail and truck in logistics solution.
Focus on savings of CO2 emissions
The largest potential for savings of CO2 emissions results in the shift of transport of goods to rail. Since May 2011 Hödlmayr is running a project in collaboration with two well-known, independent car producers. In an environmentally friendly way vehicles are transported by rail from Graz to Bremerhaven and back. This project is an ideal example for the internationalization of successful transport projects in cooperation with several partners. Since 2009 similar projects have been conducted between Romania and Belgium as well as France and Germany by Hödlmayr. ”The Austrian Export Price is an incentive for us to actively continue to implement innovative projects and ideas internationally,” Wilflingseder concludes.
