The Austrian auto-logistics firm HÖDLMAYR INTERNATIONAL AG has set up a subsidiary in the Netherlands to manage a major order. The new company is to act as the Releasing Agent for over 1.7 million cars over the next seven yearsas they make their way from the production line to the storage point for new vehicles. The cars are going to be produced in the NedCar plant in Born in Holland – above all the new smart forfour and the Mitsubishi New Colt.
HÖDLMAYR INTERNATIONAL AG has just concluded the contract to act as Releasing Agent for all vehicles produced in the NedCar plant, in the Dutch town of Born in the next seven years. This will involve some 1.7 million new cars, in particular the new four-door smart forfour and the new Mitsubishi Colt. Furthermore cars such as the Mitsubishi Space Star and Carisma and the Volvo S40 and V40 will also be produced at the NedCar plant.
As Releasing Agent / Outbound Logistics Provider Hödlmayr will therefore be responsible for new cars from the moment they leave the assembly line, for the acceptance of new cars and for the operation and coordination of the supply depot and the preparation of all cars for delivery.
In order to manage this major contract HÖDLMAYR INTERNATIONAL AG has set up a subsidiary in the Netherlands, with its base at the NedCar plant in Born. Alain van Münster, former Key Account Manager for HÖDLMAYR INTERNATIONAL AG, will be the managing director of the new sister company.
HÖDLMAYR INTERNATIONAL AG will then have subsidiaries in 14 countries around the world, twelve in Europe (Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Rumania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands), in Asia (Thailand), and in South America (Argentina).
HÖDLMAYR INTERNATIONAL AG achieved a consolidated turnover of 165 million Euro in 2002, the company presently employs around 1600 employees and has over 500 special vehicle transporters of its own and 350 railway wagons of its own. Hödlmayr delivered more than one million vehicles in 2002. Hödlmayr is the Releasing Agent in eight car plants around the world (Releasing Agent who is also responsible for the entire quality control of new vehicles). With the new contract Hödlmayr’s sister company will act as Releasing Agent for around 1.4 million new vehicles. So, for the first time, there will be more vehicles in Releasing than in transport.
